Day 51 of #100Daychallenge

A friend from years ago used to do a morning 21 Gratitudes practice. I remember thinking it was a spiritual exercise and that she was doing it to “be good”. I knew it was good to do but never why.

Gratitude is a theme for me at the moment. I experienced jealousy recently and a book I’m reading suggested gratitude as the only real antidote to jealousy. On a workshop this weekend, the teacher guided us through a gratitude meditation.

Cultivating gratitude isn’t about “being good”, or even ethical. It’s about being happy. When I start to notice all I have to be grateful for, my vision widens, my heart softens, and like the God of Genesis, I see that it is good.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, please share them with me.
